Childrens Senior Social Worker – Through Care Team – #5296056

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Childrens Senior Social Worker to join Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council’s Through Care Team, based at Seafield House, Redcar (TS10 1SP). This is a locum role paying £31.74 per hour, available from 1 July 2026.

The Through Care Team supports children and young people in care, helping them prepare for safe and stable transitions into adulthood. You will carry a caseload requiring strong skills in assessment, care planning, relationship-based practice, and multi-agency working. A sound knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding, and corporate parenting responsibilities is essential, as is the ability to work autonomously whilst delivering high-quality, child-centred practice.

You must be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable experience in looked-after children or leaving care services. A confident and resilient approach is key to succeeding in this team.
