Job Description

Blackpool Council is seeking a Direct Payments Case Worker to join their Direct Payments Team within Adult Social Care on a 10-week temporary basis (21 May – 30 July 2026), based at Talbot Gateway, Blackpool (FY1 3AH). Pay rate: £16.62–£18.36 per hour PAYE (umbrella £21.07–£23.35).

This is a 37-hour-per-week role supporting people who choose to manage their care through Direct Payments, promoting choice, control, and independence.

Key responsibilities include: providing guidance to current and potential Direct Payments users on recruitment and employment matters; monitoring, advising, and assisting individuals in managing their care packages and associated finances; reviewing and assessing financial records and documentation with strong Microsoft Excel skills (essential); carrying out home visits and building positive working relationships with individuals and stakeholders; and promoting awareness of Direct Payments whilst contributing to service development.

An initial training period will be office-based in Blackpool Town Centre; hybrid working may be available thereafter. Home visits are required, so accessibility to Blackpool is essential.

Requirements include 2 years of references, employment history gaps checked, essential qualifications as per the job description, and a Child & Adult Enhanced DBS Check.
