Job Description
Bradford Children and Families Trust is launching a short-term initiative to accelerate permanence planning for children in care, and is seeking experienced Senior Social Workers to join a dedicated non-case holding team.
This is a fixed-term (3-month), hybrid-working role based at Sir Henry Mitchell House, Bradford (BD5 0QL), paying £35.00 per hour for 37 hours per week, starting 1 June 2026.
Working free from ongoing case management responsibilities, you will focus solely on progressing permanence plans through high-quality assessments and court applications. You will complete targeted work including parenting assessments, SGO assessments and support plans, family time assessments, and court documentation, working intensively with up to five families at a time within a 6-week delivery window. You will collaborate closely with legal services, business support, and the wider Children in Care service to support the discharge of Care Orders through Special Guardianship Orders and reunification.
Applicants must hold a DipSW or equivalent social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and hold a full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle. You will bring proven expertise in delivering quality outcomes for children and young people, strong report-writing and analytical skills, and the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
If you are an experienced children’s social worker ready to make a direct and lasting impact on permanent outcomes for children in Bradford, apply now.
