Job Description

Join Birmingham Children’s Trust’s Child Protection Inquiry Team on an initial 3-month agency contract, with potential for extension. This fast-paced, short-term service completes Section 47 enquiries and 15-day Section 17 assessments, transferring cases to longer-term teams once complete. Social workers also take part in a duty rota every four weeks. Caseloads are kept low, typically three to four children per worker, allowing focus on timely, high-quality assessments.

We need a qualified and registered Social Worker with experience in safeguarding or assessment work, confident completing Section 47 enquiries and managing competing priorities independently. Strong references and access to a car are required for statutory home visits across Birmingham.

Based in Aston with free on-site parking, the team offers hybrid and flexible working with an expectation of two office days per week. You’ll receive a structured induction, join a supportive and experienced management team, and have access to free training to support your continuing professional development and Social Work England registration.
