Job Description

Thurrock Council is seeking a qualified and experienced Senior Practitioner to join their Children and Families service in Grays, Essex. This is a varied and meaningful role working across CIN, Child Protection, PLO, and court proceedings, supporting children and families facing complex social, emotional, and life challenges.

You will conduct comprehensive assessments of need, risk, and strengths, develop and implement tailored care and support plans, and provide crisis intervention and emotional support where required. You will liaise with partner agencies, advocate for clients’ rights and access to resources, and maintain accurate, timely records in line with safeguarding policies and organisational standards.

The successful candidate will hold a recognised Social Work degree, be registered with Social Work England, and have demonstrable experience of CIN, CP, PLO, and court work. Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills are essential.
