Job Description

Powys County Council is seeking a qualified Principal Social Worker to join its Support for Families service, based at Ladywell House, Newtown, Powys (SY16 1EG). This is a locum role paying £29.22–£38.28 per hour, starting 10 August 2026 with no fixed end date.

Powys is a large, predominantly rural county spanning mid-Wales, and the working base at Newtown sits within approximately 25–120 minutes of most key towns across the authority, including Welshpool, Llanidloes, Llandrindod Wells, Builth Wells, Brecon, and Machynlleth.
