Job Description
Rochdale’s Family Support and Protection Service is seeking an experienced Consultant Social Worker to support its transition into the family safeguarding model, working within newly established multi-disciplinary teams where specialist practitioners are co-located with social workers under unified management. This is a non-case-holding role focused on mentoring and supporting up to 12 ASYEs: role-modelling good practice, supporting assessment and planning, completing direct observations, report writing, developing bespoke training, quality assurance, performance management and reflective discussions, while liaising closely with Workforce Development. You will bring significant experience across the full children and families social care journey – assessment, planning, child protection work, care proceedings and permanency planning – along with a proven record of producing high-quality written work to tight timescales. Experience supporting ASYEs or Practice Educator status is required. In return, Rochdale offers flexible working patterns, regular reflective supervision, access to training including motivational interviewing, and a supportive, friendly team environment. Apply now to make a real impact during this exciting period of transformation.
