Job Description

Bolton Council (GM Collaboration) is seeking a Childrens Advanced Practitioner to join the PSW Team Quality Assurance Officer function, based at Castleton Street, Tonge Moor, Bolton (BL2 2JW). This is a full-time, 37-hour-per-week temporary post running from 24 August to 27 November 2026, paying £40 per hour.

The Quality Assurance Officer will improve and influence children’s social care practice across the Directorate through a variety of quality assurance activities, including auditing, dip sampling, coaching audit pools, and facilitating joint learning forums. You will support the embedding of practice standards rooted in relational and restorative practice principles, collecting family feedback, contributing to inspection preparation, and working alongside managers within the quality assurance framework to ensure audits meaningfully influence frontline practice.

Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification with registration with Social Work England and at least three years’ post-qualification experience in statutory children’s services, ideally with supervisory experience. A sound working knowledge of the ILACS framework, strong IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel), and the ability to apply relational and restorative approaches are essential.

Hybrid working is available, but regular on-site presence in Bolton is required to meet service needs. Free on-site parking is provided.
