Job Description
An exciting opportunity for an experienced, reflective social work practitioner to join Bolton Council as a Practice Improvement Officer, driving up the quality of social care practice across children’s services. You will design and deliver learning activity such as breakfast briefings, lunchtime learning and staff engagement events, informed by audit findings, and provide coaching and role modelling to embed a shared understanding of good practice. Key duties include supporting career entry and progression pathways (apprenticeships, Frontline, GM Return to Social Work), collaborating with children and families to understand quality of practice, and influencing training and practice standards across the workforce. You will need post-qualification experience of statutory social work, a recognised Social Work Qualification and current registration with Social Work England; a Practice Educator qualification or supervisory experience is preferred.
