Job Description

Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join its Fostering Support and Supervision team, based at Parklands, Speke, L24. This is an initial 3-month placement at £40 per hour (Ltd), 35 hours per week, with free on-site parking.

You will provide high-quality support and guidance to foster carers, with a specific focus on those recently assessed under Regulation 24. The role requires strong working knowledge of the Fostering Regulations 2011 and National Minimum Fostering Standards.

Key responsibilities include regular supervision visits to foster carers, undertaking high-quality sessions; identifying training needs and ensuring statutory training is completed; completion of formal annual reviews; and making informed, child-centred decisions in complex cases through critical reflection and analysis. You will ensure children and young people are safeguarded within their placements and produce consistent, high-quality work within set timescales.

Candidates must be qualified social workers with substantial fostering experience, specifically within support and supervision. Social Work England registration is essential.
