Childrens Advanced Practitioner – Children in Care Hub – #OR105678

June 17, 2026
£25 - £33 / hour

Job Description

Birmingham Children’s Trust — rated GOOD by Ofsted — is seeking up to eight Advanced Practitioners to join the East Children in Care Hub in Birmingham (B6 4DU). The Trust supports just under 700 children in care aged 0–18 as corporate parents, and this role sits at the heart of that mission.

You will undertake the full range of permanency planning — placement with parents, long-term fostering, Special Guardianship Orders (SGO), and Adoption — as well as care proceedings from Interim Care Orders through to Final Care Orders. Supporting children to develop life and independence skills throughout their care journey and preparing them for adulthood is central to the work.

The service operates across five teams working from One Avenue Road and Lifford House, with two set office days per week per team; all teams attend One Avenue on Thursdays.

To be considered you will need: a recognised social work qualification and current Social Work England registration; a minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience; a proven track record in parenting assessments, permanency planning, and court proceedings; strong direct-work, report-writing, and record-keeping skills.

The role is full-time, 36.5 hours per week across five days, with flexibility required in line with corporate parenting responsibilities. Rate: £24.51–£33.30 per hour. Start date: 13 July 2026.
