Job Description

An experienced Childrens Advanced Practitioner is required for Lincolnshire County Council based in Spalding, South Holland (PE11 1QF), covering the wider South Holland district including Sutton Bridge, Gosberton, and Crowland. Free on-site parking is available.

This is a front-line safeguarding role within a children and families team. You will hold a mixed caseload spanning Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings, taking cases from referral through to closure with no change of Social Worker. Responsibilities include completing assessments and reports for court in both private and public law proceedings, and undertaking Section 47 investigations.

The team operates a three-weekly duty rotation: one week on duty (office-based five days, with new case allocation and initial visits) and two weeks off duty managing existing caseloads.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and have a minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in a permanent, front-line safeguarding role. Experience and training in Section 47 investigations is required.

Rate: £29.51–£40.00 per hour. Start date: 7 September 2026.
