Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Childrens Advanced Practitioner with Leeds City Council, based at Deacon House, Seacroft Avenue, Leeds (LS14). This is a temporary role running from 29 June to 12 July 2026, paying £40 per hour for 37 hours per week (8:30am–5pm).
You will manage a complex caseload comprising Child and Family Assessments, Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings through to permanence. The role carries lead worker responsibilities working alongside other social workers, without supervisory or line management duties. You will practise restoratively with children and families, promoting family-led decisions to manage risk and meet support needs.
Key requirements include excellent relational work with children and families, direct work and child-centred practice, strong analytical assessment skills, high-quality written work, and the ability to manage competing demands to maintain strong practice standards. You will work as part of a busy but supportive team and contribute to a positive learning culture.
The role is primarily office-based for duty weeks, with hybrid working negotiable on non-duty weeks (one WFH day or compressed hours). Applicants must be able to drive and have use of a car. A clean DBS is required.
