Job Description

Liverpool City Council is seeking an experienced Business Support Officer to join its Risk & Insurance Team, based at the Cunard Building, Pier Head, Liverpool (L2 2BS). This is a temporary contract starting 24 August 2026, paying £119.00–£156.49 per day via Prism.

You will provide essential administrative and operational support to a busy insurance function, ensuring accurate processing of claims data, smooth coordination of tender documentation, and effective communication with internal departments, insurers, and external stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include inputting, updating, and maintaining insurance claims data within the organisation’s claims management system; assisting with documentation for insurance tenders, renewals, and broker submissions; tracking claim progress and following up on outstanding information; producing routine reports on claims activity and trends; and maintaining organised records to support compliance and audit requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail, demonstrable experience with data entry systems or case/claims management platforms, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a methodical way. Clear communication skills and confidence liaising with stakeholders at all levels are essential. An understanding of insurance processes — claims, renewals, or tendering — is desirable but not required.
