Job Description

Darlington Borough Council is seeking a qualified Adults Social Worker to join its adult social care teams, based at the Town Hall, Darlington (DL1 5QT). Starting 8 May 2026, this is a locum engagement paying £197.74 per hour via Comensura.

Working within a strengths-based approach, you will carry out statutory duties and responsibilities to safeguard adults and achieve positive outcomes for people in Darlington. Drawing on developed expertise and knowledge, you will manage more complex cases within the team — including individuals with autism and learning disabilities — and actively contribute to team, service, and practice development.

You will be Social Work England registered and experienced in adult social care, with a demonstrable track record of managing complex casework. Experience working with individuals with autism and learning disabilities is specifically required for this post.
