Adults Safeguarding Officer – Safeguarding Team – #OR112983

August 22, 2026
£30 - £41 / hour

Job Description

Lincolnshire County Council is seeking an experienced Adults Safeguarding Officer to join their Safeguarding Team on a remote contract basis, starting 7 September 2026. Paying £29.89–£40.52 per hour via Prism.

In this critical statutory role you will protect adults at risk by leading and coordinating safeguarding enquiries under Section 42 of the Care Act 2014 and Lincolnshire’s multi-agency safeguarding procedures. Working under the guidance of Safeguarding Principal Practitioners, you will make initial determinations as to whether the local authority’s legal duty has been met, triage incoming concerns, assess and manage risk, and develop proportionate safeguarding plans that keep the individual’s wishes and outcomes at the centre of all decisions.

Day-to-day responsibilities include screening and triaging safeguarding referrals, conducting risk assessments and applying sound professional judgement, promoting Making Safeguarding Personal, and maintaining high-quality case records in accordance with policy and legal requirements. You will build collaborative relationships across health, social care, and partner organisations, applying a strengths-based, person-centred approach throughout.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation (including the Care Act 2014), experience in Section 42 enquiries, triage, and multi-agency working are essential. The role is predominantly remote; candidates should be prepared to attend the Lincolnshire office full-time during their first week for induction and equipment setup. The contract has the opportunity for extension.

If you are a resilient, professionally curious social worker with a passion for safeguarding adults, apply now.
