Blackpool Council is seeking an experienced Adults Deputy Team Manager to join its Community Adult Social Care service for an 8-week interim assignment based at Talbot Gateway, Blackpool (FY1 3AH). Rate: £40.88 per hour. Start date: 27 July 2026.
This is a key leadership role providing strong operational and professional oversight to a multidisciplinary team at an exciting period of improvement and transformation. You will manage complex casework, lead safeguarding responses, and drive performance across assessment, review, and care planning functions under the Care Act 2014 — supporting people to achieve independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes whilst managing risk appropriately.
Key responsibilities include leading and developing a team of social workers and practitioners, overseeing safeguarding enquiries, ensuring timely high-quality Care Act assessments and care planning, driving quality assurance and continuous improvement, and working collaboratively with partners across health, housing, providers, and the voluntary sector.
Candidates must be qualified Social Workers registered with Social Work England, with significant experience in adult social care including safeguarding, and proven experience of managing and leading teams. A strengths-based, person-centred approach is essential. Three years of references and employment history checks will be required.
