Job Description

Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Adults Assistant Team Manager to join their Adult Social Care Mental Health Team based in Ashton-under-Lyne, Tameside (OL7 9QG).

This is a fixed-term locum position running from 14 September to 20 November 2026, paying between £27.36 and £40.00 per hour.

The successful candidate will bring solid knowledge of mental health practice within an adult social care setting, along with a strong working understanding of the Care Act, the Mental Capacity Act, and associated legislative frameworks. You will support the team manager in overseeing casework, maintaining standards, and providing supervision and guidance to practitioners within the mental health team.

Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Demonstrable experience in adult mental health social work and a clear understanding of safeguarding adults responsibilities are essential.
