An IRO/Conference chair is required in Tameside. – Must have CP chair experience to hit the ground running
This is to predominately chair Child Protection Initial and Review conferences. Must be local to Tameside & be office based
This is an agency full time office based statutory role of 36 hrs per week. The role of the conference chair is to provide independent oversight when a child or young person is deemed at risk of significant harm. The conference chair is accountable to the Director of Children’s Services and is a practitioner, independent of operational and/or line management responsibilities for the case. They chair Initial and Review case child protection conferences in line with statutory timescales as outlined in Working Together to Safeguard Children Statutory Guidance.
The conference chairs complete midpoint reviews to ensure compliance in the child protection plan. They complete the Practice Review Process to challenge where there is drift and delay or practice is lacking. They provide views for legal gateway and attend professional meetings where appropriate. They will also chair CIN meetings and undertake home visits to children.

You must have:

A professional qualification in social work and experience of working with Children’s

Social Work England registration.

Post qualified experience.

Enhanced DBS/Update service.
