We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Social Worker to join our Fostering Kinship Support Team. This part-time role (27 hours per week) involves supervising and supporting a caseload of kinship foster carers, ensuring high standards of care and compliance with fostering regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide regular supervision and support to kinship foster carers.
Complete annual reviews and Special Guardianship Order (SGO) assessments.
Identify and coordinate training needs for carers.
Work collaboratively with children’s social workers and partner agencies to ensure cohesive care planning.
Maintain accurate and timely records in line with statutory requirements.
Engage proactively with applicants and approved carers to promote positive outcomes for children.
Travel to support carers who may reside outside the Wirral borough.
Skills required:
Qualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.
Experience working with kinship carers and understanding of their unique needs.
Strong understanding of fostering regulations, SGO processes, and safeguarding procedures.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
Commitment to promoting the welfare of children and supporting carers effectively.
The following is essential criteria:
– Degree in Social Work
– SWE Registration
– Right to work within the UK
– Full, clean driving license and access to a vehicle
