Job Description

An opportunity for a qualified Social Worker to join Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Childrens Services, working across sites including Woodfieldside, Ty Gilfach, Ty Pontygwindy and Rhymney. You will deliver assessment and care management to children and families with assessed needs, developing outcome-focused intervention plans in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children and statutory timescales. Duties include maintaining accurate case records, representing the service at Court and Panel meetings, and working jointly with partner agencies including Education, Health and Police. You will be supervised by a Team Manager and expected to manage your own caseload with appropriate support. Fostering Team posts additionally involve recruiting, training and supporting foster carers in line with the Fostering Recruitment and Retention Strategy, including statutory supervision visits and Foster Carer Reviews. Requirements: Diploma/Degree in Social Work (or predecessor), registration with Social Care Wales (or equivalent UK regulator), and a full UK Category B driving licence with access to a vehicle for business use.
