Job Description

An exciting opportunity for a qualified Team Manager to lead a high-performing Children Looked After service in Somerset, with a specialism supporting unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people, including spontaneous arrivals and those mandated under the National Transfer Scheme. You will provide strategic direction, ensure statutory compliance and drive service improvement, working closely with a second team manager and a supportive, experienced management team recognised for outstanding culture and good practice. Key duties include supervising and developing a dedicated social work team, managing complex cases, overseeing performance and quality assurance frameworks, and building strong multi-agency partnerships with senior leaders and Members. You will also hold responsibility for resources and budgets. Candidates must hold a relevant Social Work degree, be registered with Social Work England, and have significant experience managing children’s social care teams.
