Job Description
Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a qualified Children’s Social Worker to join the Fostering Service – Kinship Care Team on a locum basis.
This role focuses on completing Form K assessments, assessing prospective kinship carers for children who cannot remain with their birth parents. The position is based in Stockport (SK1 3XE) and runs from 28 September to 12 October 2026 at a rate of £35 per hour.
Candidates must have a minimum of five years’ post-qualifying references, with any gaps in employment history accounted for. Relevant qualifications must be provided as per the job description and person specification.

To be considered, you must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. If you have experience in kinship or fostering assessments and are available immediately, please get in touch.
