Childrens Social Worker – Cared for Children Service – #000B53AD1

Job Description

Trafford Council is seeking experienced Childrens Social Workers to join their Cared for Children Service on a locum basis in Manchester (M32 0TH), from 28 September to 31 December 2026.

This is a generic Cared for Children social work role, though candidates with UASC (Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children) and Age Assessment experience are particularly sought after and may attract the higher rate of up to £39 per hour. The standard rate is £35–£39 per hour depending on experience.

Candidates must be able to provide 5 years of references, with gaps in employment history checked and relevant qualifications verified as per the job description and person specification. Suppliers are required to complete the DfE Recommendation Compliance Questions and attach the completed file to the candidate record prior to submission — applications without this will not be progressed.
