Job Description

Conwy County Borough Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker for a short-term vacancy within its Disabilities 0-25 Service, based at Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay, Conwy.

This role involves delivering a high-quality social work service to children and young people who are vulnerable or require support due to a physical or mental impairment that has a substantial long-term effect on their ability to carry out day-to-day activities. You will work collaboratively with citizens, carers, and families to provide support and develop resilience and independence, placing the individual at the centre of all decision-making regarding their lives and desired outcomes.

The assignment runs for 15 hours per week, Monday to Friday, commencing 17 August 2026, for an initial period of approximately six weeks with potential for extension. The role is office-based at Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay, and candidates must be able to commute to Conwy County.

Requirements:
– Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of three years post-qualifying experience
– Registered with Social Care Wales
– Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
– Competent with technology and relevant software
