Job Description
Blackpool Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join its Community Mental Health Team for Older Adults on a 14-week interim basis, based at Talbot Gateway, Blackpool (FY1 3AH). Rate: £30.66 per hour.
This is a co-located, integrated team working alongside health colleagues to deliver high-quality, service-user-focused care across the Blackpool Coast. You will provide multi-disciplinary needs and risk assessments, care planning, and long-term social work support for older adults experiencing mental health difficulties and their carers, working within the framework of the Care Act 2014.
The team operates in a well-established integrated model with health colleagues, with a shared commitment to joint service planning, delivery, and development. You will undertake timely assessments and reviews and manage a caseload of older adults with varying mental health needs.
Mental health experience with older adults, or a sound understanding of mental health legislation, is preferable. Three years of references will be required, with gaps in employment history checked and relevant qualifications verified as per the job description and person specification.
Start date: 24 August 2026. End date: 29 October 2026 (14 weeks). 37 hours per week.
