Job Description

Semester Recruitment is seeking a qualified Social Worker for a fostering duty role with Gateshead Council, based at the Civic Centre, NE8 1HH. Starting 20 July 2026, this position pays £27.56 per hour.

The primary focus of this role is supporting fostering duty and family finding for children and young people in Gateshead’s care. You will play a key part in ensuring timely, child-centred matching and placement planning.

Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Previous experience in fostering, family finding, or looked-after children services is highly desirable.
