Job Description

An exciting temporary opportunity has arisen for an experienced Children’s Social Worker to join the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) within Conwy County Borough Council’s Children, Families and Safeguarding Service, based at Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay.

Working at the front-door referral point, you will deliver a high-quality duty social work service to children and their families. You will support the Team Manager in triaging referrals, undertaking appropriate action to inform decisions at the point of entry to services, including signposting and short interventions. The role is carried out in accordance with the Social Services and Wellbeing Act (2014) and the All Wales Safeguarding Procedures.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification, be registered with Social Care Wales, and have a minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience. Child Protection and Section 47 training and experience are required, along with strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

This is a full-time, office-based post working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from Coed Pella, Colwyn Bay. Candidates must be locally based or within a commutable distance of Conwy County. The assignment is expected to run for approximately 12 weeks with the potential for extension. Rate: £30.50–£39.95 per day. Start date: 10 August 2026.
