Job Description

An experienced Childrens Advanced Practitioner is required by Lincolnshire County Council, based at 46 Union Street, Grantham (NG31 6NZ), covering the South Kesteven District. Free on-site parking is available. The rate is £29.51–£40.00 per hour, with a start date of 10 August 2026.

This is a front-line safeguarding role working across Child in Need, Child Protection, and Care Proceedings. You will hold cases from referral through to closure — without handover — managing CIN and CP plans, compiling court reports for both private and public law proceedings, and carrying out Section 47 investigations. The team operates a four-weekly duty rota: one week on duty (office-based five days, accepting new referrals and completing initial visits) and two weeks off duty. The district covers Grantham and a large surrounding rural area, so a vehicle and willingness to travel are essential.

A minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience in a permanent, front-line safeguarding role is essential, along with a recognised social work qualification and current Social Work England registration. Experience and training in Section 47 investigations is specifically required.
