Job Description

Wakefield Children’s Services are seeking an experienced Childrens Team Manager to cover a maternity absence within a busy locality team based at the Normanton office, Wakefield (WF6 2DZ). The post runs from 27 July to 26 October 2026 at £40 per hour, with the potential for extension.

You will manage a team of eight social workers undertaking assessments, Children in Need (CIN), Child Protection (CP), and Public Law Outline/court work. Previous experience managing a children’s fieldwork team is essential.

The role offers hybrid working: two days working from home during non-duty weeks. Duty cover is one week in four. If you are an experienced children’s team manager with a strong fieldwork background and are available from late July, please apply without delay.
