Job Description
The London Borough of Redbridge is seeking qualified and experienced Educational Psychologists to join its Educational Psychology Service on a locum/sessional basis, working between 1 and 5 days per week across schools, family homes, and office locations throughout the borough.
This role centres on delivering high-quality statutory SEN work, with a specific focus on providing psychological advice as part of the Education, Health and Care Needs Assessment (EHCNA) process. You will conduct face-to-face assessments in schools, educational settings, and family homes, producing evidence-based psychological advice using the Redbridge EHC advice template. Two days are allocated per EHC advice completed.
Key responsibilities include undertaking psychological assessments of children and young people, identifying strengths, needs, outcomes, and appropriate provision recommendations, maintaining accurate records, and working collaboratively with the SEND Team, families, schools, and wider professionals to ensure all reports meet statutory deadlines and Redbridge quality standards.
Applicants must hold an Honours Degree in Psychology and a postgraduate qualification at Master’s or Doctorate level recognised by the British Psychological Society and the Association of Educational Psychologists as constituting professional training in Educational Psychology. Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) is required, or eligibility for registration if newly qualified.
The role offers flexible working of 1–5 days per week at a rate of £478.36–£634.50 per day, starting 20 July 2026. Report writing may be completed from home or an agreed office base. An enhanced DBS check is required.
