Job Description

Bromley Council is seeking a qualified social worker with secondary mental health and adult safeguarding experience for an exciting new Social Work Pilot launching Summer 2026. This satellite team to the Mental Health Hub will embed improved Care Act compliance, quality, and assurance within Bromley’s primary care mental health offer.

You will work with service users who are new to mental health, evaluating needs, risks, and circumstances quickly. Key responsibilities include undertaking comprehensive Section 9 needs assessments in service users’ homes and determining whether Section 42 safeguarding enquiries are required. Experience as an Enquiry Officer is highly desirable.

Bromley operates an integrated mental health service between health and social care, delivered in partnership with the third sector, offering a genuinely joined-up MDT approach. You will be based between the Civic Centre (opposite Bromley South station) and Rachel Notley House in Beckenham, where you will be co-located with colleagues from Mind and NHS psychology. You will be supported by an exceptionally experienced and passionate senior social worker. Hybrid working is available — up to one day per week from home.

The role is offered at £24.51–£32.00 per hour via Prism, starting 13 July 2026, with strong likelihood of extension as the pilot becomes business as usual. Parking is available on site and the location is well served by public transport.
