Job Description

Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking a qualified Adults Social Worker to join its Mental Health & Autism Team, with a focus on autism-related casework. This is a temporary assignment running from 27 July to 1 November 2026, based at Baker Street office in Stockport (SK4 1QQ), paying £30 per hour.

The role requires office attendance on specified days for mandatory activities, duty cover, and maintaining a strong office presence. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential requirements.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. Three years of references are required, and any gaps in employment history will be checked. Relevant qualifications as per the job description and person specification will also be verified.
