Job Description
Blackpool Council is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Adults Social Worker to join their Community Social Work Team based at Talbot Gateway, Blackpool (FY1 3AH). This is a hybrid role with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office, offering a rate of £30.66 per hour.
Working with adults across the community, you will identify and understand support requirements, maximising independence and preventing future need. You will apply strengths-based approaches, engaging with community and voluntary groups and drawing on reablement and commissioned services. Confidence across all relevant Adult Social Care legislative frameworks is essential, alongside the ability to work autonomously with strong problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
Blackpool Council offers protected CPD time, regular formal and informal supervision, diverse training packages, and access to a visible, supportive management team. Agency workers are also provided with a parking pass for restricted areas and reduced-rate office car parking.
A minimum of 3 years’ references and checks on any gaps in employment history are required, along with a recognised social work qualification and current Social Work England registration.
The current contract runs to 13 July 2026, with an extension requested. If you are passionate about supporting the Blackpool community and committed to your professional development, please get in touch.
