Job Description

Barnet Council is seeking a skilled and proactive Occupational Therapist to join its Adult Social Care team in Colindale, London (NW9). This is a community-based role focused on enabling independence and safety through housing adaptations, equipment provision, and manual handling assessments.

Key responsibilities include completing comprehensive functional assessments, duty triaging and screening incoming referrals, designing and recommending major adaptations (level-access showers, stairlifts, ramps), prescribing equipment, undertaking manual handling risk assessments, liaising with contractors and housing teams, and maintaining accurate records for funding applications and safeguarding processes.

Candidates must be HCPC-registered with demonstrable experience in community-based adult social care settings and sound knowledge of housing adaptations and equipment provision. Familiarity with Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG), experience working with contractors, and proficiency with electronic case management systems are advantageous.

This is a temporary role paying £25.01–£34.31 per hour, starting 1 July 2026, sourced via Prism. Only CVs with relevant adult social care OT experience will be considered.
