Job Description

Wakefield Children’s Services is seeking two full-time Enhanced Senior Social Workers to join their Integrated Front Door (IFD) team, based at District Headquarters, Havertop Lane, Normanton, WF6 1FD.

This is a front-line role working within the MASH, collaborating with partner agencies to screen incoming referrals, analyse information, and make recommendations on appropriate levels of intervention and service. You will be working alongside highly regarded practitioners and leaders in children’s social care.

The role runs Monday to Thursday 08:30–17:00 and Friday 08:30–16:30, office-based with the option to work from home up to two days per week following the induction period. The initial contract is a minimum of three months, starting 24 August 2026.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and have a minimum of three years’ post-qualifying experience in frontline children’s social work. MASH experience is strongly preferred.
