Childrens Advanced Practitioner – Locality Service – #000B1E2B1

Job Description

Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner to join the Locality Service on a temporary basis, running from 6 July to 30 September 2026.

This role sits within a children’s social work team and requires a practitioner who is confident managing a mixed caseload of Children in Need (CIN) and Child Protection (CP) plans, as well as holding court work. The successful candidate will bring a high level of clinical skill and the ability to work with increased complexity and autonomy.

The position is offered at £37 per hour and is primarily office-based, with a requirement to attend the Westgate Plaza One site in Barnsley three days per week.

Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England. If you have the relevant experience and are available from early July, please get in touch.
