Job Description
Bury Council (GM Collaboration) is seeking an experienced Childrens Team Manager to lead the Children with Disabilities (CWD) social work team, based at 3 Knowsley Place, Bury. This is a full-time interim role running from 27 July to 31 December 2026, paying £42 per hour via XMS.
You will manage the delivery of field social work services to children with disabilities and their families, ensuring statutory compliance and adherence to departmental policy. The role includes direct oversight of a team of social workers providing services to children in need and those requiring protection within the CWD specialism.
Key responsibilities include managing team performance and caseloads, ensuring statutory requirements are met, and providing leadership on child protection matters within the CWD context.
Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification (CQSW, DipSW, BA Hons Social Work or equivalent) and have a minimum of three years post-qualifying experience in a field social work setting, including substantial child protection experience. Experience working within a Children with Disabilities team is essential for this role.
