Job Description

Powys County Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Social Worker with a court specialism to join their team based at County Hall, Llandrindod Wells. This is a locum role paying £28.35–£37.14 per hour via Prism, commencing 6 July 2026 with no specified end date.

The role is specifically focused on court work within children’s services, requiring a qualified social worker with demonstrable experience of care proceedings and legal processes. Candidates must hold a recognised social work qualification and be registered with Social Work England.

Powys is a large, predominantly rural county in mid-Wales; the position is based in Llandrindod Wells and will involve travel across the county. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are therefore likely to be essential.
