Job Description

South Tyneside Council is seeking an experienced Childrens Advanced Practitioner to join a busy front-door assessment team. Based at the Town Hall, South Shields (NE33 2RL), this is a full-time locum role commencing 1 June 2026.

The post sits within the Child and Resource Team (CRT) Assessment Team, working at the front door of children’s services. You will bring advanced practice skills to a high-tempo assessment environment, supporting robust decision-making and effective management of risk for children and families.

Applicants must hold a recognised social work qualification, be registered with Social Work England, and have demonstrable experience in children’s assessment and front-door services. Prior advanced practitioner or equivalent senior experience within a children’s statutory setting is essential.
