Job Description

Swindon Borough Council is seeking a Customer Services Information Guide to join its inbound Contact Centre, based at the Civic Campus, Euclid Street, Swindon (SN1 2JG). Starting 8 June 2026, this role pays £13.90–£18.48 per hour via Prism.

You will be the first point of contact for Swindon residents, handling inbound calls and helping customers access the wide range of services provided by the Council. A key focus of the role is promoting a digital-first approach — actively encouraging and supporting customers to access information and services online.

Day-to-day responsibilities include understanding customer needs, signposting to relevant support services both within and outside the Council, providing information on Council services where it is not readily available, and escalating queries and service requests to the appropriate team.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a customer-focused manner, confidence working within a busy call-centre environment, and the ability to navigate multiple systems to locate and relay accurate information. Experience in a local authority or public-sector contact centre is advantageous.
