Job Description
Lincolnshire County Council is recruiting Customer Service Advisors for its Out of Hours Team, based at Lancaster House in Lincoln City Centre. This is a 20-hour, 12-week contract paying £12.76–£16.49 per hour, starting 1 June 2026.
As the first point of contact for emergency out-of-hours calls, you will handle enquiries relating to Adults’ and Children’s Social Care, District Council services, Libraries, Highways, and Heritage. Callers include members of the public, Police, and Health professionals, and calls are often of a sensitive nature, requiring you to gather and process information accurately and efficiently.
Shifts cover evenings, overnight (midnight–8am), weekends, and all public holidays. Core hours are Monday–Thursday 17:30–08:00 and Friday–Monday 17:30–08:00.
Candidates must have excellent customer service and communication skills, strong IT literacy including Microsoft Office and Windows, and the flexibility to work the required shift pattern. Agile working (a mix of office and home) is available once training is complete.
