Job Description

Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council is seeking two qualified Adults Social Workers to join its core Safeguarding Adults Team on 12-month interim contracts.

Based at 10 Duke Street, Blackburn (BB2 1DH), these full-time roles are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:00, at a rate of £30 per hour. Start date is 8 June 2026, with contracts running to 31 May 2027.

Working arrangements are hybrid: 60% office-based and 40% remote, following completion of induction.

Candidates must be able to provide three years of references, with gaps in employment history checked, and hold the relevant qualifications as per the job description and person specification.
