Customer Service Advisor – Care & Wellbeing Hub – #OR101284

May 1, 2026
£13 - £16 / hour

Job Description

Are you a confident communicator with a compassionate nature and a passion for making a difference to children’s lives? Lincolnshire County Council’s Care & Wellbeing Hub is seeking a Customer Service Advisor to join the Children’s Social Care team at Lancaster House, Lincoln City Centre.

In this vital first-point-of-contact role, you will handle sensitive incoming calls from members of the public and professionals — including Police Officers, Nurses, and School Teachers — reporting concerns about children. You will use professional curiosity and active listening to gather and record detailed, accurate information, capturing it against a structured framework before passing it to the Children’s Social Care teams. The quality and clarity of your notes directly influences the decisions made for vulnerable children, so precision and composure under pressure are essential.

Key responsibilities include: managing high volumes of sensitive inbound calls; building rapport quickly with distressed or anxious callers; accurately recording and presenting information in a clear, concise, and error-free manner; and liaising professionally with statutory partners.

The role runs 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 08:00 and 18:00, on a minimum 12-week assignment paying £12.76–£16.49 per hour. A full induction and service-specific training are provided by subject-matter experts from across the Children’s Services and Customer Service Centre teams.

You will be resilient, empathetic, and comfortable dealing with harrowing subject matter. Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Windows, are essential. No social work qualification is required — this is an admin and clerical role within a children’s services setting.

If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and want a role where your work genuinely matters, apply today.
