Job Description

Are you an experienced Adults Social Worker looking for a meaningful role in a dynamic statutory team? We have an exciting opportunity based in Birkenhead, Merseyside, working within an Adult Safeguarding Duty service paying up to £28.11 per hour.

In this role you will lead and coordinate safeguarding enquiries under the Care Act 2014, triaging new concerns as part of the Duty Rota. You will manage a diverse and complex caseload with autonomy and professional judgement, undertaking strengths-based assessments and developing outcome-focused support plans. The role involves completing Mental Capacity Assessments, undertaking Making Safeguarding Personal conversations that shape risk planning and outcomes, and working collaboratively with health partners, police, care providers, and voluntary organisations.

You will apply relevant legislation, policy, and best practice to protect adults from harm or abuse, and provide professional advice and guidance to colleagues and partner agencies.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with strong experience in adult safeguarding or similar statutory adult services. You will demonstrate excellent analytical, communication, and report-writing skills, with confidence in managing risk and making evidence-based decisions. The ability to work flexibly, proactively, and as part of a supportive team is essential.
