Job Description

Royal Holloway, University of London is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its newly formed Strategy Implementation Team within the Strategic Planning Directorate. This is a pivotal interim role supporting the delivery of RH2030s — the University’s ambitious new strategy — which will introduce significant change across the institution.

You will be the driving force behind the planning and delivery of key strategic change initiatives, managing projects from requirement definition through to implementation. Responsibilities include defining project scope, objectives, costs and benefits; producing detailed project work plans; managing project teams; and coordinating delivery within agreed timescales, cost, and quality standards. You will support the Project Sponsor and Project Lead, organise workshops and project boards, facilitate meetings, and prepare evidence-based business cases for the University’s governance process.

Working closely with Business Analysts, IT Project Managers, and the senior executive team, you will ensure technical and business change requirements are integrated effectively. You will identify and manage risks, maintain communication plans for all stakeholders, and report on project progress to steering groups and leadership.

The successful candidate will bring demonstrable expertise in project management methodologies (such as PRINCE2 or Agile), experience managing complex organisational change programmes, and the ability to operate confidently at senior stakeholder level. Higher education sector experience is advantageous.

This hybrid role is based at the Main Campus in Egham, Surrey (TW20 0EX), requiring a minimum of two days on campus per week (currently Tuesday and Thursday). The day rate is £243.00–£321.04. Start date is 18 May 2026.
