Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Manager to join a social work team based at Delamere House, Crewe (CW1 2JZ). This is a locum position offering £45.00 per hour, available from 3rd May 2026 on an ongoing basis.

As Team Manager you will provide professional leadership, supervision, and management oversight to a team of social workers, ensuring high-quality, effective practice in line with legislative requirements and local authority standards. You will hold responsibility for the day-to-day running of the team, managing complex and high-risk cases, supporting staff development, and driving positive outcomes for service users.

Key responsibilities will include supervising and supporting qualified social workers, managing workloads and allocations, ensuring timely and accurate recording, chairing complex case discussions, and maintaining compliance with safeguarding procedures. You will act as a key point of escalation within the team and contribute to service improvement initiatives.

Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification (BA or MA Social Work, CQSW, DipSW or equivalent), be registered with Social Work England, and have demonstrable experience in a management or senior practitioner capacity within a local authority or equivalent setting. An Enhanced DBS check including barred list checks will be required for this post.
