*Senior Social Worker Locality Team #OR100464

April 23, 2026
£33 - £44 / hour

Job Description

Denbighshire County Council is seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join its Adult Social Care service, based at The Royal Alexandra Hospital in Rhyl. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver high-quality, person-centred social work to adults and their families across Denbighshire, with a rate of £33.00–£44.39 per hour.

In this role you will hold a caseload of varied complexity, undertaking assessments, care planning, and reviews in line with the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005. You will respond to safeguarding concerns in accordance with the Wales Safeguarding Procedures 2019, carry out investigations and risk assessments, and chair multidisciplinary meetings including Best Interests and Integrated Care and Support plan reviews. Working collaboratively across health, housing, the third sector, and emergency services, you will support adults to maintain independence and resilience through early intervention and prevention.

At a senior level you will provide advice, guidance, and mentorship to Social Care Practitioners on less complex cases, act as a positive role model, and contribute to the ongoing development of the service.

Candidates must hold a recognised Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work or equivalent such as DipSW) and be registered with the Care Council for Wales as a Social Worker. Social workers qualified from 2012 must have completed the CPEL Consolidation Programme. Experience with complex adult cases, safeguarding procedures, and multi-agency working is essential. A full driving licence and ability to travel across Denbighshire are required, along with a willingness to participate in the Duty System Rota.

If you are a confident, experienced adult social worker ready to take a senior lead in a values-driven, well-supported service, apply today.
