Are you a dedicated Children’s Social Worker ready to make a real difference in the lives of Blackpool’s youngest and most vulnerable children? This is an exciting opportunity to join the 0-Infants Team at Talbot Gateway, working within a service that places families and children firmly at the heart of everything it does.

Blackpool Children’s Services operates a strengths-based, relationship-focused model — working ‘with’ families rather than ‘doing things to them’. The team champions inclusivity, transparency, and consistent, trust-based practice, ensuring formal intervention is managed at the lowest appropriate level whilst always keeping the child central.

Key responsibilities include undertaking pre-birth assessments, managing child protection cases, complex child in need work, and PLO/pre-proceedings. You will produce high-quality court statements and assessments, and play an active role in supporting and mentoring less experienced team members under the direction of the Team Manager.

The successful candidate will be a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England, with demonstrable experience across pre-birth assessment, child protection, CIN, and court work. You will bring professional commitment, sound judgement, and the ability to act as a positive role model for junior colleagues.

Blackpool offers excellent transport links via the M55/M6 and Blackpool North rail station, with secure parking directly opposite the town centre offices. The rate is £39 per hour.
