Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Family Support Worker based at the Seaham Contact Centre, SR7 7JE, offering £20.97 per hour on a temporary basis starting 27 April 2026.
Working collaboratively alongside qualified Social Workers, you will play a vital role in supporting families and improving outcomes for children. This role sits at the heart of frontline children’s services, providing practical and emotional support to families in need.
Key responsibilities include delivering all aspects of parenting work, facilitating and supervising family time, and supporting and coordinating transport arrangements for children and families to ensure safe, positive, and consistent contact experiences.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a family support or children’s social care setting, with a sound understanding of safeguarding principles and child-centred practice. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
A relevant Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, Childcare, or a related field is desirable. You must be organised, reliable, and passionate about making a difference to vulnerable families and children.
